Fireman Dies After Truck Crash At Meridian and Pratt
In Indianapolis, Assperding Truck No. 1 struck a mushroom signal at Meridian and Pratt, killing 23 year old Gauth Lauth. Fire lieutenant Oscar Ragsdale led the squad, and driver Irvin Fossati brought the machine to a halt after a tire blew out, sending the truck into a curb and a chemical tank. The crash injured one and prompted investigators to blame possible missing red signals and dangerous street lighting.
