Three gunmen bound and gagged Mrs. Florence Richardson and her daughter at their Atlantic City home on April 30. The raiders escaped with $80,000 in jewelry and valuables, including silverware. Mrs. Richardson is married to the head of a Philadelphia firm and partial owner of a Washington baseball club. Mr. Richardson is in England.
In Mocwoketa Iowa this morning Charles Correll 20 shot his mother in law Mrs Georg Gibson and his divorced wife Mrs Pearl Correll and then killed himself The triple shooting followed a series of threats by Correll Mrs Gibson suffered severe jaw injuries and was in critical condition at press time
Washington dispatch reports three of four naval bombing planes flew in from San Diego to Quantico then arrived at Bolling Field. The remaining craft, the C2, dumped fuel over Harpers Ferry. Dancers pass 6 day mark in endurance feat in Youngstown after equalling the record this morning.
Springfield April 30. David Herriott of Chicago urges regulators to stop automobile manufacture and sale to curb speeding. A bill by Senator Ryan and Rep Powers would set twenty one mph as the maximum. Fines range from forty to one thousand four hundred dollars and license revocation for a year for devices exceeding twenty five mph. Herriott says speeding causes most deaths and injuries and cites post office use of twenty mph governors as proof.
In Paducah Kentucky April 30 threats of mob violence prompted the removal of Mrs Henrietta Wagner and Mrs Emma Skillan after a dynamite explosion wrecked Alfred Warren home in Princeton killing Mrs Warren and injuring none of her children. A court of inquiry explored motive jealousy over Warren who had raised the woman and opposed marriage. A third person, a man, may be implicated. Skillan was released for medical reasons while investigators seek more evidence from witnesses who testified to Warren’s displeasure at the marriage shown in outbreaks at a market four months prior.
Freeport reports a burglary at Charles W. Hanson, a fingerprint expert, with thieves leaving numerous identification marks. The robbers took silverware, clothing, and jewelry while Hanson and family were away. A black four wheel parked vehicle with two headlights linked to the crime. Hanson and fellow detectives pursue leads.
Indiana state board of education votes 7 to 1 to reject all bids for supplying high school textbooks for five years citing alleged excessive costs. Predicts potential price reductions if new bids arrive May 24, and notes possibility of continuing current texts for one more year to avoid higher costs for parents.

Dixon Indiana April 30 Sheriff Be Risley ex Indiana university football star and seven deputies were beaten in a gun fight with Elmer Robert and other moonshiners at a farm house. Risley wounded but not badly. Risley was captain of Indiana University football team in 1920 and an ensign in WWI naval service. He returned to college in 1930 and played as a regular on the line. He also belonged to varsity baseball and the Sigma Chi fraternity.
Governor Harder urged the Senate to remove County Judge Willis of Leon County over malfeasance and drunkenness tied to the Martin Tabert camp death. The report notes Sheriff Jones was already removed, a federal probe expands to Ned Thompson's jail death, with possible grand jury action in May.
