Lawrenceburg Indiana June 17 Louis F Liddle aged 15 a freshman at the public high school drowned in the Ohio River while swimming with companions. The group raced in the water and Liddle sank ahead of the others and did not resurface. The river’s depth and swift current hindered recovery and his body remained missing. He was the eldest son of Frank L Liddle, a machinist and inventor.
Allan Rossignal of Clarendon Virginia was killed when he plunged 100 feet from an airplane into the Potomac River at Arlington beach. His wife and six children looked on as the craft rose and carried him low over the water. Police said the man may have become confused and leaped or tied his harness moments before impact. His body was recovered about three hours later.

His brother Albert and Byron Thumma attempted rescue as another brother nearly drowned.
A morning blaze in Fulda Indiana near Spencer County swept through the Lindbauer flour mill and multiple nearby structures endangering the town.
