Trio Faces Charge of Robbing Bank in Clinton Ind
Special to The Indianapolis Star reports John Perry proprietor of the Blue Birding Centenary Thomas Turdich Perry bartender and Anton Cossack formerly of Chicago but living at the Blue Bird Inn were arrested for robbing Dyer Ind banks of cash and travelers checks on Dec 50 1922. They allegedly acted as guards while Cossack dressed as a woman robbed the bank and escaped toward Centenary. Federal charges for liquor law violations were also filed against Perry and Cossack, who pleaded not guilty and were released on bonds. Police and Federal agents arrested them at the Blue Bird Inn after a raid aided by local officers. The Blue Bird Inn, a noted dive, had been shut by a federal injunction but the raid proceeded. Detectives also recovered car theft dies at the inn. The three men face additional charges in Dyer and Clinton territories.
