Boy, 5, Hit by Auto in Salem Street Crash
A five year old boy was struck by an automobile driven by Mrs Elia Leadarus of 108 North Meridian Street on Salem Street near Thirty eighth Street. He suffered a broken left leg and head injuries and was taken to St Vincent’s hospital. Mrs Lazare was arrested charged with assault and battery and driving on the left side of the street. Police said the emergency squad investigated. James Thurman was arrested and charged with assault and battery and speeding after a car he was driving crashed into a vehicle driven by Mose Barrett of North Lincoln Street. Barnett, wife and son were injured. Thurman was driving on Lafayette Pike at the time.

Burglars Take Safe From Grocery on West Washington
Burglars broke into Franklin Stores grocery at 2509 West Washington street and removed a safe. They took it by car to Jackson street dumps, pried open the safe to take about 60 cents plus some papers, and left a revolver in a drawer. Police found part of a rear auto body near the scene.

Four killed as interurban car strikes auto near Detroit
