Indictments Return for Forty Fenian Prisoners in Canada

The grand jury yesterday found true bills of indictment against forty Fenian prisoners in Canada. In Covington Kentucky the US District Court ruled that railroad companies cannot be held liable for deaths of stray cattle.

Court delays as jury returns not guilty in Putnam murder case

The court delayed consideration due to a holiday. jurors returned not guilty in the Putnam murder case after two and a half hours' absence. December 6 Washington report details receipts totaling 907 306 and expenditures 478 363 by the bureau of refugees freedmen and abandon ed lands through April 1 1860 to October 31 1865.
