Auto Accident Fatal to Brush Valley Man
George R. Stewart of Mechanicsburg died after a hill descent crash near Ebensburg while his wife learned to drive the car. He sustained a skull fracture and died en route to Ebensburg. Born February 4, 1857, he was a farmer in Brush Valley and an elder in Homer City Luthern church. He leaves a widow and three sons Murray Clair, Clarence Russell, and Edwin Luther.

Bolivar Physician Dies Running to Train
Dr. Newton R. McLean, a prominent Bolivar physician, collapsed on a Bolivar street Sunday afternoon while sprinting to catch a train to New Florence. Heart trouble was given as the cause. He was a Bolivar native, son of the late N. R. McLean, who spent most of his life in the brick town. Social notes mention neighbors gathering at the Burns home in Washington township to welcome son Robert M. Burns back from Nebraska after four months away. An event is planned at Uniontown schoolhouse near Cherry Tree featuring the Cookyort brass band for Tausle.

A Montgomery township group returning from a Thursday fair escaped severe injury when two cars collided near Hillsdale.
