Field Day at County Home Draws Dairymen and Leaders
The Farm Bureau Field Day at the County Home drew 125 attendees from across the county. A forenoon farm tour preceded a dinner and the annual Cow Testing Associations meeting where officers were elected for the association and the Holstein Club. Dr. L. M. Thompson of Susquehanna County spoke on the dairy industry, noting Holstein cattle lead in milk and value nationwide, and Penn State’s Prof. B. B. Fitts discussed county dairy gaps and cost-records importance. A corn seed selection series is planned for September with Penn State Extension participation to promote seed corn quality and proper drying before winter.
