Train Strike Kills Rev M D Telford and Wife
A passenger train struck an auto near New Castle, killing Rev. M. D. Telford and his wife instantly as their car was hurled fifty feet. Their two children, Mary and Donald, were badly injured with skull fractures and broken legs. both are in Venango Valley Hospital in critical condition. Nearby, Mrs. Albert Stoker and family survived a 60 foot embankment plunge with Mrs. Stoker suffering a compound leg fracture and other injuries.

Aged farmer William Fair dies after fall from window
William Fair an 80 year old Cherryhill Township resident died early Wednesday after falling from a second story window at his daughter Mrs Archie Stewart’s home near Penn Run. He had been in ill health, was born on the Fair farm south of Indiana, and spent most of his life as a farmer before retirement.

Convict Clyde Carney Captured After Escape in Chicago
Clyde Carney, a convict from Wits County Task year, escaped from the Western Penitentiary farm during fog and fled to Chicago last week. He was identified by Mrs Shilling and arrested after a robbery and felonious shooting at Mrs Peter Laing’s home in Wehrum last year. He had been sentenced to the Western Penitentiary following his county court trial.

Young farmer leaps to stop runaway horse rescue on road
White Lawrence Robinson was driving home from Indiana when the horse bolted after a bit broke. W M Calhoun, a young farmer and stockman, saw the danger, leaped from his wagon, grasped the horse, and choked the wind, stopping the animal. His team then fled but Calhoun pursued and recovered them a mile away. No injuries or damage occurred to people or vehicles.

A jury awarded $4650 to Miss Ann May Zolar Pittsburg a student at Indiana Normal School in her suit against Charles Steele of Hamer City for injuries from a last year crossing South Seventh Street.
