Local residents and families from Apal Jo Misa Cornelia Christy Vandergrift Green Oak Apollo and surrounding areas gathered for visits and Sunday calls. Residents visited relatives shopped attended a sportsmen meeting in Apollo and joined educational tours and family events across Girty, Vandergrift, Plumville, and Indiana areas.
Maple Grove reports the birth of twins, a boy and a girl, to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ludwig at Johnstown hospital. Edna Lyster became Mrs. Ludwig. Numerous locals including Ford Smith, Diana Detwiler, and the Waltemire family visited, attended events, or hosted gatherings in the region around Kenwood, Swamp, and Penn Run. Mr and Mrs Joseph Schwab and little son of Tidioute were weekend guests of their parents Mr and Mrs Watt Kinter. Mr and Mrs Carl Miller and children Raymond and Elizabeth of Vandergrift spent the weekend with their parents Mr and Mrs Harry Miller. It was the 32nd anniversary of Mr and Mrs Miller's marriage and the birthday of Car. Mrs Emma Wier, visiting her sister Mrs Nan McGar a, returned to Chicago last week. Mrs Watt Kinter was a recent visitor in Indiana, Mr and Mrs Frank Smith returned to their home in Olean N Y after spending some time visiting their sister Mrs Nan MecGara.

Paul Kline of Earnest also called Saturday. Henry Davis of Alverda called Sunday. Gomer Smith near Alverda called at the Engle home Tuesday. Twilaingle spent the weekend at home. The Sheldrake, an Old World salt water duck, shows underground and underwater habits.
Mrs. Walter Rankin spent Tuesday in the Alton Strong home. Erma, Margaret Boring, and Mabel Dearmy visited their grandmother Mrs. Nan Gressley in Spruce. John Bennett family and Blanche Erma Crissie Ruth called in Indiana. Elizabeth Troxell and Gladys visited Vance Young in Penn Run. Ethel Patterson of Nolo called in town. Whitesell family visited Punxsutawney over the weekend. Ernest Dearmy returned from Penn Run to his home here. Vinton Garrett and wife were Saturday callers in Johnstown.
No Sunday school or church services will be held until November 10 in Elders Ridge. Rev and Mrs James R B H Craig left Monday for a vacation to Blackwell Oklahoma Oswego Illinois and Carbondale in Southern Illinois where they lived for 12 years. Prof Miller of Creekside was a fridge caller Sunday afternoon. Genevieve Manners hosted a Christian Helpers party at her home with games and a lunch. Annabel Ewing spent Monday at R W Beamers home where they attended the funeral of Mr Beamer's father Monday afternoon. The Missionary meeting will meet at Miss Mary Henry's home Wednesday evening.
