A fragment from Our Dumb Animals describes wild horses' drinking behavior. They guard themselves at water holes, never all drinking together, roll in mud to deter fires, and sprint away after quenching thirst. They drink about once daily, returning to feeding grounds by afternoon and resting near the spring until noon the next day.
The linden or basswood tree known as lime in England is praised for beauty and utility. It yields nectar for bees, excellent honey, and wood prized for whiteness lightness toughness and durability used in lumber charcoal and various crafts across the United States and Europe with seeds dispersed by wind.

Pastor Sexton of Indiana preached at Stake's church as revival meetings concluded Sunday night. Attendance was high. Mrs. Margaret Devinney and Mrs. Grant Cramer with Miss Mable Cramer visited the Overdorffs and Rhine family members. The Overdorffs, Rhine and Fetterman households hosted visitors from Indiana and Johnstown over the week, with several family gatherings noted across Sunday.
In the Nevada State Journal a personal notice mocks a husband J Witzkorn declaring he will not be responsible for his wife's bills. Signed by Mrs J L Witzkorn, the piece features playful banter about marriage and government jobs, with friends remarking on harmony and avoiding arguments.
