Delinquent corporations and others have paid up, eliminating a prior treasury deficit and creating a surplus to cover school needs. Correspondence with State Treasurer Barnett outlines 1899 and 1900 revenue rises and sources, including taxes on capital stock, gross receipts, and corporate loans.
