Heilwood residents report visits and travels including Mrs J A Donehue and daughter returning from South Fork and Wendell Croyle visiting his son Irvin. The town met its War Work Fund quota with 1287 raised. Influenza claimed Tony Leona and Logan Conerby, with their survivors ill. Sergt J Ross Johns returned from Camp Lee on furlough. Terrence Waltemire ill with pneumonia at his sister’s home. George Leydic visited from Indiana. Dudley Turkley and Pius McGough traveled to Pittsburgh. Lambersons moved from Indiana. Raymond Wallace in Camp Jackson, Columbia, SC, reported seriously ill with influenza.

Roberts will lead the Union Thanksgiving service in the MM. i. church on Thursday at 3:30. Myrl Stewart of Georgeville is ill with influenza. Mr. Myers is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Stewart. J. P. Lytle of Chambersville visited his daughter Mrs. 4. P. Caldwell over Sabbath. Mrs. Martha Meanor of Rock Island and Mrs. H. Barr will start for their western homes this week. Mrs. W. J. Dodson of Indiana visited with her brother Dr. C. H. Bee.
The Pleasant Valley school, closed for several weeks due to the flu, reopened Monday. Jeremiah Lydic and son Meade of Cockport visited A. W. Lydic on Friday. Miss Henrih Meese and Ela Lydic stayed with Margaret and Binton Lockard on Sunday. Mrs. W. G. Lockard and two children from Indiana visited Ma. and Mrs. IL. W. Ober on Sunday. Miss Anni Butterbaugh visits her sister Mrs. Blair Wissinger for the week. Mrs. Tom Maloney of Kersey visited the Lease home on Friday. Mrs. Tony Lease shopped at Barnesboro on Saturday. Miss Margaret Lease returned.

Mr and Mrs A L Bowman and daughter visited friends in Marstel lir on Sunday. D I B Martin made a business trip to Indiana on Monday.
Masters Homer and Everett Bly stone spent Sabbath with their uncle Ralph Blystone. Mrs Nannie Irvin was a caller in Sagamore Friday. Miss Bosse Cessna ig employed at the home of Paul Kimmel. Mr and Mrs Murray Ankeny spent Sabbath with the latter's mother. Grant Pleming was home with his parents over Sabbath. Call Fry made a business trip to Indiana Friday. A kitchen shower was tendered to Mr and Mrs Ted Shaffer on Tuesday evening at the home of the bride's parents Mr and Mrs Saml McAdoo. A lot of hunting had been done in this section during the past week. Myers Kimmel spent a Thursday in Indiana attending institute. Kimmel school district went over the top in the United War Work campaign. Miss Vida Keeler visited her cousin Asther Ehenger on Sabbath.

Mr BE Eldar was a Marion Center business caller Thursday. Mrs Wm Kanauff and daughter Dorothy of Juneau spent Monday with Mrs Kanauff's mother Mrs F M Gilpatric who is seriously ill. John Best of Deckers Point was a town caller Monday. Mr and Mrs Wm Zeigler of Indiana were guests of town friends on Sunday and Monday. Mrs P A Weiss spent the weekend with Indiana friends. Mrs Anna Richardson and daughter Ruby were Punxsutawney shoppers Thursday. Mrs F A Edmond and son Russell were guests of her parents Saturday and Sunday. Sara Lowise Barr spent Saturday with her cousins Fred and William Meyer. Robert Sell is on the sick list. Mr and Mrs Ira Weaver and children spent Saturday with W P George and family. Gladys Ella Scott and Mac Sell were guests of Beulah and Emma Minshower. Mr and Mrs Frank Russell were Indiana visitors Sunday. Mr and Mrs Ray Meyer spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs Wm Barr.
