Razors from Hallstatt period found in Vienna graves

Archaeologists on Mount Wahlenberg near Vienna uncovered 3000 year old bronze razors and grave goods from the Hallstatt era. The finds include arm blades, finger rings, rare pottery, curved daggers, long swords, and a yard of urns with painted decorations. Swords were bent to fit urns.

In 1800 John Philip Sousa read news of a death, triggering a lifelong melody echo. On the voyage home he finally transcribed the tune that became The Stars and Stripes Forever, as the famous march director recalled that the composition has remained unchanged since.
