Old New Jersey House Opens as Public Museum in Middletown
The Marioit Hall house on Kings Highway Middletown N J rises as a public museum. Dated 1684 with a 1710 two story addition the home passes from Edward Taylor to his descendants then to Barnabas Ryder and back to the Taylors before 1935 when Mrs J Amory Haskell acquired it. Restoration preserved Dutch and English influences with original bull s eye glass and paneled interiors plus eighteenth century mahogany and walnut furniture.
