Nation's Dead to Be Honored Tomorrow

Indiana plans public mourning events with Memorial Day services across counties. Post No. 28 G A R and Women’s Relief Corps to hold ceremonies at Twolick bridge and county cemeteries honoring Navy and Marine dead from Civil War era. Additional services scheduled in several towns with speeches by local officials and clergy.

Hub Store Moves Into New White Building

Heyman Bros owners of The Hub Store plan to relocate this week into Gen White’s newly finished three story building. The Web Store will occupy the entire structure and insurance coverage for stock in the Thomas building has been adjusted as the firm secures the lease. Local names appear in partial notices and a police report notes a liveryman settling a dispute after an abused horse incident.

CommencementExercises At Indiana High School Complete Class

The Indiana High School commencement exercises finish with a class of 31 receiving diplomas. Rev J C N Park delivered the baccalaureate sermon in First United Presbyterian church. The program featured invocations, speeches, music, and the diploma presentation by J T Bell. Names include Claude Petted Laura Myers William Sexton Mary Gilchrist James Daugherty Charles Simpson and others. The annual alumni banquet is set for Friday evening in the auditorium and a class picnic will follow on Saturday at Campbell’s Mills.

Gradate With Honors Rinn Family Celebrates Graduations

Miss Minnie Hinn daughter of Mr and Mrs D F Rinn of West Philadelphia Street graduated from Combs Conservatory of Music Philadelphia last evening. She will attend Pennsylvania College Gettysburg as guest of her brother Cloid, a graduating class member. The Rinns plan a June rail trip to Gettysburg for commencement then return by Selden touring car via Washington Little York Philadelphia and New York state. Their eldest son and daughter graduation near same time comments their pride. Samuel Rinn a Kiski junior captained the track team that won the school meet at Pittsburg Saturday. Minnie Rinn served as assistant to the Conservatory faculty during the past year.

Ament Re-elected Principal With Salary Rise

Dr James E B Ament was re elected principal of the Indiana State Normal School with salary increased from 3600 to 6000 at the annual board meeting Monday night The Board of Trustees reorganized naming Thomas Button as president John P Bik in vice president J Wood Clark secretary and Harry White Jr treasurer The teachers employment committee has not finished its work but will report later Also noted are a construction accident and a real estate ad in the Progress column with 66 acre farm sale for 3000 and a jail prisoner count in Hellwood.
