Little Tot Fires A Home In Fourteenth Street Fire
A small child started a lamp fire in a second floor bedroom at the Asagarren home on Fourteenth Street. Mrs. Barren saved her child after her skirt caught fire but the blaze destroyed most of the second floor before the fire company stopped it. The house belonged to Solomon Black.

Today marks the 76th anniversary of James Gorman born in Pontronery Township. Relatives and friends are invited to his home for a celebratory event. He is the last surviving member of the original Gorman family in the county since 1840 and is a Civil War veteran of the 84th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. Born in Library PA she lived years in Brughvilley township and leaves three sons M W Chambers New York Charles W and M Chambers Wilkinsburg and Mrs O M Ausley Chambersville. Peter Learn, longtime Green township resident near Cookport, died aged 85. Born near Apollo he moved to Green in 1820. wife Lucinda Cool and children Mia Susan Elwood Israel William P Alexander Uriah B and Elina Learn survive. Funeral services were held yesterday morning with interment at Cookport.

Fatal Sunday Fight Lands Burns on Murder Charge
William Burns, a young employee of Commonwealth Coal and Coke Co. at India, stands charged with murder after a Sunday altercation with former friend Robert Johns in Little Coal Town.
