Dallas invites outstanding church figures to conduct twilight vesper services at the Texas Centennial Exposition starting June 6. Inaugurating six months of celebration for 100 years of independence from Mexico, invitations have been sent to Dr. George W. Truett Archbishop Temple Rabbi Stephen F Wise and Dr Stanley Jones.
In Dallas nearly 5 000 workers are at the Texas Centennial Exposition site daily. A complete emergency hospital has been set up on the grounds to treat anything from a finger splinter to serious injuries before the June 6 opening.
Indiana shoppers Spruce Mr and Mrs John Bagley and Mary Bagley were out Saturday evening. Mrs Samuel Keith stayed with her sisters Mrs Cooper Mrs Meade Douglass and Eliza McDanell. Frank McAnulty family returned home after two weeks with Ida McAnulty. Alice McCurdy, living with grandparents, was stricken with blindness and taken to Indiana hospital for observation. Mills McCurdy was taken to a hospital in Philadelphia Saturday night. Mrs James McCurdy and Eva McAnulty aided, with John Repine and Wilbert Repine families visiting Bolivar friends. Sarah Mary Bagley Lottie Brown visited Pine Flats Tuesday evening. J B Brown and Mae called Wednesday. Prof D D Patterson and son visited mother Mrs W E Patterson Saturday. Mrs Lawrence Repine, a Spangler hospital patient, expected home soon.

Mrs John Fuller and Helen Louise Johnson were callers in Spangler on Thursday. Mr and Mrs Kenneth Beck and two children of Barnesboro were callers at Roy Brishart’s home on Wednesday. Alfred and Wilmer Hill left Sunday for Lorain Ohio. from there they will go to the lakes where they will be employed.

Miss Josephine Gibson of Pine Flats returned home from hospital much improved. Mr and Mrs H P Young and family were Stafford callers Sunday. Mr and Mrs John Engle and family and his mother Mrs Jane Brown visited the Graham home in Brushvatley Sunday. The more we have to do with women the more we admire the patience of butchers grocers and department store people.
A sweeping pageant titled Cavalcade of Texas will recount the state’s history from early Spaniards through modern times. Presented three times daily during the Texas Centennial World’s Fair in Dallas, running June 6 to November 29, the project is directed by Mark Hamilton with writer Jan Isabelle Fortune reviewing the script.
