Jury finds Cook Guilty of Ravishing 13 Year Old Girl
A jury found Jesse Cook guilty of ravishing Blanche Bagley near Cook’s sport on January 19 after the girl testified she was dragged to a thicket and threatened. Fire injures child as carpet thrown from dwelling incident
A piece of burning carpet was thrown from the dwelling of Mr. and Mrs. John Dula near Clymer on a Friday afternoon. The blaze started after kerosene spilled while lamps were refilled and a boarder beat the fire with carpet. The carpet landed on their two year old child, causing serious injuries.

Murderous device used by a Josephine man
Paul Kelouskey of Josephine is charged with using a murderous device in an attempt to blow up House No 97 occupied by his wife and lodgers. A lodger woke to tampering and saw Kelouskey light a fuse then toss the package through a window. a second man seized the can and threw it outside before a violent explosion shattered glass and froze the occupants. The alleged assailant fled and has not been arrested.

Royden Steetle, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Steetle, is in Indiana hospital with typhoid fever after returning from Chicago, likely contracted in the West. Charles M. William Borland a lifelong resident of White township died at his home three miles north of Indiana at 7:00 am of apoplexy. He was in his seventieth year, survived by wife Ann and children Charlotte Duncan Howard and Samuel. Funeral Thursday at 7 at his home with interment in Greenwood cemetery.

A presumed Austrian railroad worker was found dead hanging from a tree along a public road about a mile from Martintown. William Williams and Jennie Williams reported the body, which had no identifying papers, to authorities.
