James N. Lewis, a Homer City carpenter, was arrested in Ebensburg and is in Cambria county jail awaiting sentence on desertion and non support charges filed by his first wife Minnie Lewis of Cambria county. He pleaded guilty before Judge Reese in Johnstown. Prosecutors allege he has two wives and claims he won the affections of Miss Rowland, while the second wife knew nothing until the arrest. Charges may include bigamy perjury and adultery after sentencing.
Warrants for beer agents and alleged speakeasy operators were issued by Justices Kline and Crossman. Several suspects from Iselin Lovejoy and Mikegails Mills were arrested and bailed. two held in default of bail. Charles Miller of Lovejoy jailed for operating a gambling house.

Helen, three, daughter of Max, and Mrs. Blaine Wegley drank poisonous mixture used to treat a child’s cold. The substance containing camphor and carbolic acid burned the throat. she lay unconscious and was in critical condition until a physician arrived. Sheriff Josiah Neal, visiting North Point, suffered a brief illness but recovered. Liveryman Claude Thompson of town broke his left arm in Blairsville. Postmaster nomination for Saltsburg, Joseph A McClaryen, was confirmed by the state senate.
Mrs Eligabeth Bukehart wife of Deliny Likehart of Vandergrité died at home on Tuesday evening of last week from pneumonia aged 50. Survived by husband and several children. Born near Plunnville the family resided there much of her life. Remains interred at St John Lather church cemetery near Plim ville on Monday. Turner Fukelart died at his home in Barnards Armsbrang county on Thursday of typhoid pneumonia aged about 40. Survived by wife two sons and two daughters. Interment in Mahoning Baptist church cemetery near Phinville on Sunday. Shard Montgoommlly died at home near Sheloca on Thursday morning at 2 o'clock from a disease complication aged 48. Unmarried with one sister Bell and three brothers Lilder Authony and Alexander. Interment at Eddurton on Wednesday. Mrs Mary Clawson of New Florence died at her home on Wednesday aged 78 from injuries sustained in a fall two years ago. Mother of Alfred and Thomas Clawson of town. Interment Oakland cemetery Friday. Sally Barclay oldest resident of Burlington township died Friday aged over 10 years. Unmarried and had lived with John Doty. Interment Mast Union church cemetery in Burlington township on Sunday.

Nannie Buchanan aged 55 died at Gipsy February 28, married 1873 to James Buchanan, leaving two sons and three daughters. Mrs W C Luckhart of Ialoguille died aged 47, survived by husband and four daughters. interment at Rhynsville. David Comfort Cotsort of Blairsville died Wednesday aged 85, burial at Blairsville.
