Old Dower House Has Real Charm

A historic three section manor near Rosaryville, once the colonial home of the Lords Baltimore, remains largely as it was a century ago. Built starting 1643 by plans of Sir Christopher Wren, the blue brick hunting lodge shows early Maryland Virginia colonial architecture with later additions by the fourth Lord Baltimore and landscaping by Major Enfant. Despite weathered plaster and stains, the rooms retain antique furnishings and atmosphere, reflecting its 17th century origins and evolving use.
