Evolution of Method of Production of Honey
Historic practice of harvesting honey involved killing bees with sulfur fumes. Modern methods use movable frame hives and supers to collect surplus honey without harming bees. Extracted honey is produced via frames with wax foundation, uncapped, centrifugal extraction, heating, and straining before bottling for market.
Popular Accordion Tops Public Interest in Music
The accordion is described as the era’s most popular instrument with the public, reportedly selling faster than saxophones. Reasons cited include its radio sound and independence from other accompaniment, with origins and etymology touched on alongside a note about the instrument’s invention in Vienna around 1829 and a playful comparison to chords and catgut strings. Also included is a Harrisburg note on patrols warning motorists against coasting in neutral, linking it to the risk and legal prohibition.
