Indiana County Street Railways Company workers and passengers acted as volunteer firefighters saving the Moore dwelling in White township after a roof blaze was spotted from a 5 46 car. Earlier a bucket brigade from a Blairsville Indiana car saved the Putt farm house. A Dixonville dwelling suffered slight fire damage Monday night.

Poisoned Horses Die After Eating Wilted Leaves
A team owned by A. G. Nelson of Strushvalley township died after nibbling wilted wild cherry leaves while Nelson repaired a fence. The horses, hitched in a herd, consumed the leaves from a nearby pile, becoming ill within hours and dying days later. The pair valued at 3450 dollars. Later, Flag Day exercises by the Indiana Lodge Benevolent and Protective Order of Hiks are planned for Friday at 8:00 p.m. in the lodge room, with members invited to bring friends.

Burned Woman May Live May Recover After Fire Accident
Mrs Colin Lowman of New Kensington was badly burned Friday when clothes ignited as she scooped ashes from a wood fire. Husband Bert Lowman carried her to the house and a physician treated burns to the body and one arm. Condition improved yesterday though life was at times feared. She is about 24, with two children, Charles Mack of Indiana a brother.

Burnheimers Sped Leunton First Gathering Near Dixonville
The first Burnheimer reunion, held at the Atron Skurnheimer homestead near Dixonville, drew over 400 attendees including Burnheimer descendants and friends. William Burnhelmer presided, with A W Eagle and James Duchanan speaking on lineage and local recollections. Marion Center Cornet Band provided music. Sam Vence, aged 94, was noted as the county’s oldest resident. The next reunion is set for John Wurnhalmer’s farm near Mitchell, on the first Wednesday of June 191.

Peter Frech lost a valuable horse when it fell and broke hip.

Three Tragic Rail Deaths Probed by County Coroner
Coroner Dr A B Butar baugh investigated the deaths of Philip Deli of Derry age 20 and William D Woodhouse of Weathersfield Conn age 35 who were struck by a fast passenger train near New Florence while driving stakes for a surveying corps. The bodies were hurled about 100 feet and both died instantly. A third death of a foreigner who fell from a railroad bridge at Wolri station was also examined. inquests were not deemed warranted.

Auto Crash In Clymer Injures Five Men From Town
An Orrin Widdowson driven car from Clymer turned turtle on the Philipsburg pike two miles from Clearfield. All five occupants were injured, four lightly and one severely. Injuries included bruises contusions and a shoulder injury. They were taken to Clearfield hospital where Hancock remained for observation. The five men reside in Clymer and were all able to return home on Monday.
