Mrs Tillie Frailey and son Char Ley and Mrs Mary Kinder visited near Parkwood. Janet Ness of Vandergrift stays with Glenna Mae Thomas this week. Janet and Viola Ramer visited Louise Reer. Lee Kimmel and family were in Kittanning on business last week. Clair Kinter and daughter Mrs Gilbert Kinter with Harry Cover and Murray Ramer spent Monday at Ralph Ramer's. Locals attended a carnival in Kittanning Saturday. Robert Houser and wife spent the Fourth with Grant Reatek near Rural Valley. Clair Fry moved from Clark farm to a farm near Advance. Abbie Fleming and Virginia Miller visited Porter Miller. Curt Frailey and Lester Johnston called on Dan Clarke. Alvin Rearick and daughter from Indiana spent Sunday with Ralph Ramer. Kimmel families attended the Shumaker reunion. Neale of near Jacksonville visited Meyers Kimmel home. A festival at Gastown Lutheran church is set for Thursday night July 9. Clarence Wrightstone and daughter from Harrisburg spent the week with relatives here.

Susie Bertsando and Violet Berringer called Wednesday. Mr and Mrs John J Williams and daughter-in-law Mrs John M Williams visited Indiana on Thursday. Mrs Anna Van Ness and daughter Doris of Brooklyn, NY, visit her parents Mr and Mrs Mike Shabbick. Margaret Joiner owns a new Dodge coach. Alma Vater visited Pittsburgh Saturday. Youths attended Lakemont picnic on the Fourth. Helen Bailey of Marsteller spent the weekend with Mrs Daniel Sneddon. Mr and Mrs John Rennie and children were Twin Rocks visitors Saturday. Mildred Rennie visits sister Mrs Leroy Heling of Twin Rocks. Harry Sneddon spent weekend with mother Mrs Fannie Sneddon of Philipsburg.

Topeka Kansas Gov Alf M Landon reports a balanced budget as Kansas closes its fiscal year on June 30 with a cash balance near 3 25 million dollars. State accountant A R K Jones estimates the balance is roughly 250000 dollars more than the prior year ending in 1935.
