Lost a Foot at Blairsville Crossing After Train Collision
Newton Dixon of Blairsville intersection was struck by a train while crossing the railroad tracks on Saturday. He sustained severe injuries requiring amputation of his left foot. Mr. Dixon is a son of James Dixon of Burrell township.

Flagman Killed on Buffalo Rochester & Pittsburgh Line
Daniel Harkey of Punxsautawney, a flagman on the Buffalo Rochester & Pittsburgh railroad, was killed at Ernest on Saturday. He rode the engine pilot and fell under the wheels, dying instantly. He leaves a wife and one child.
