Homer City residents and visitors figure in a long local notes column. J B Morrison opens a restaurant at Arlington Hotel, Bell Telephone connects Center township farmers to Homer City lines, A J Nevins and wife visit Pittsburg, and workers at Townsend mines face injuries while coal shipments rise. A large birthday gathering honors Mrs Thomas Phillips with gifts, and the Progress newspaper is urged as a local advertising vehicle.
