County Town News Highlights Local Events and Visits
The Civic and Literary Club will meet at the Stoneback home on Tuesday evening January 22 with Current Events and library duties in January led by Mrs William W Weimbach Mrs Samuel Wry Miss Ciara Gerhard. A number attended the Blairs ville basketball game Saturday and many were inconvenienced by Sunday weather. Local churches were poorly attended. R A Kelly visited Jacksonville. Alfred Cunningham attended a party at the Bergman home in Blairsville Saturday. Miss Mary Williams visited Blairsville on Monday. An infant son of Rev George Guthrie died Sunday evening. The Great Catholics celebrated New Year Monday. Arthur Nippes visited Homer City Sunday. The Vorlage Bros Blairsville finished painting a house in Bennett addition. Edward Palmer visited Indiana. Mrs W C Seeman and Mrs D R Donahey were in Indiana Thursday. Claude Ling went to Dilltown Saturday. J Spackman was called to Clearfield county due to his mother's illness. Earl Smith, formerly freight agent, transferred to Vandergrift. Mrs Betta Jordan fell on the pavement and was injured. Sumner Craft visited the county seat Saturday. A large maple tree near the M E Church fell in the storm. Jacob Gerhard was in Johnstown Monday. A yard office opened in the Blacklick yards. Red Cross ladies sewed Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. many ladies attended. Pajamas being made. 20 pounds of yarn ordered for future sock consignments to the Indiana chapter house. Mrs H Sr Taylor is recovering. Many guests visited the Central House and Cafe Teddy last week. Thomas Davis and James Thomas of Marshall Foundry were in Pittsburgh over Sunday.
