A Turfo Memoir of Wally Bryant and a Ten Grand Debt

The tale recalls 1918 when Mudder McMork and friends helped a Memphis colt handler named Wally Bryant escape a trap and a ten thousand dollar bail by selling off horses and borrowing to raise funds. Years later in Bowie they spot Bryant again, gray and wary, believing the old man may repay the debt by turning straight. The story blends racing lore with a cautious, redemptive arc about misplaced trust and second chances.
