Farm Extension News W: T B Area Re test attenda nce and costs
About one hundred Indiana county farmers attended the meeting at the Court House on Friday January 6 to discuss the next three year tuberculosis area re test. County Agent Warner reviewed tests from 1925 1926 and 1929 showing reactors per cent rates and the county paid driver costs in some years while cattle owners paid transportation in others. Dr Ira Mitterling outlined testing details noting indemnity and the use of veterinarians, with 14 000 ear tags and supplies required at county expense. Transportation costs debated, but a motion passed to have the county pay for transport. Bid procedures and start dates for tests across townships were announced with some starting February 6 and others in March.
