Four Killed in Wreck near Seward Station
A Friday night collision near Seward station killed four railroaders and injured several more. The fast mail and express hit a freight car, wrecking both trains and sending cars and engines into the Conemaugh river. Engineer James Black and Fireman William Paul died on their engine. Paul, 25, of Penn Run, leaves a wife in Pitcairn. Other victims included Conductor C. C. Peterson of Derry and Brakeman Nolan of Wall. The Second wreck involved a westbound freight under Engineer Black.
