Incendiary Fires Reported In County Infractions
Fires of unknown origin have destroyed two buildings in the past five days, both started early morning and likely the work of an incendiary. A. R. Learn of Rayne township escaped with his family as his house burned leaving few goods. Thompson's agency insured the dwelling for 400 and contents for 100. In White township, James Beer’s barn on Willi Mahe Road burned at five o'clock while he fed stock, forcing a hasty exit. A neighbor, Geo Snyder, had a warning letter about a planned fire a month earlier.
