Creekside and Rochester Mills updates record numerous visits and hospital motions. Families like Johnston, Bothell, and Stuchell cluster in Indiana towns while hospital stays and travel mark a busy week for locals.
Smicksburg area residents hosted and visited relatives and friends on weekends. Indiana and Punxsutawney hosts were mentioned, with visitors from Dubois and Saltsburg noted. Patty Weaver of Punxsutawney stayed with Chas Stiteler and family. Ancestral visits included Mr and Mrs J B Troutman and Mrs Wm Crissman in Punxsutawney, and Martin Wilson visiting friends in Dubois.
The Adult class held an oyster supper at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Brown with almost all members attending and reports of a good time. Miss Shirey has stayed at Harvey Devlin’s home due to travel difficulties. Elsie and Mabel Shirley, Indiana students, stayed with grandmother Mrs. Campbell in West Lebanon for two weeks.
Mr and Mrs Raymond Boyer and children visited Elderton with the Altman family and Lesley Turner from Vandergrift. Florence Rowley called at Indiana, and Mrs DC Dunmire aided Elgin in putchering. Ankney visited Kit tanning. Blystone and Rosborough attended Roy Blystone’s funeral in Indiana. Leater Sheasley and Donald visited J J Shensley. Elgin and Mildred with Dean Elgin’s family Sunday. Rural Valley callers included the Boyers. Dunmire and Richard called at Indiana. The Rugees hosted visitors from Idaho and Ford City families. James Heckman and Indiana guests spent Sunday with Amos Boyer’s family.
Raymond Elrick called from Saltsburg on Friday. Dan Haberstich and J L Ewing were Saltsburg shoppers Saturday evening. The King Daughters class of the first United Presbyterian church in Indiana presented a play Closed Lips in Clarksburg hall Friday night, a great success. Callers in J L Ewing home Sunday evening were Lois Anderson and Frank Fletcher. Mr and Mrs W K Cramer visited Mrs Cramer's mother in Indiana Sunday. Paul Dixon and family were Indiana shoppers Saturday. Mary Nell Cribbs of Baltsburg spent the weekend with her parents J A Cribbs. R N Nesbitt called in Livermore Saturday. J L Ewing and Harry Steffy went to McKeesport on Friday.
Strongstown reports Ethel Detwiler and Mack Detwiler with family cards on Friday. Mr and Mrs Wm Bennett visited Alex Bennett in Homer Wity. Erma Boring moved to Penn Run for new job. Helen Lantz returned home after two weeks near Wehrum. Willard Mack stayed with Geo Somers on Friday night. Dr Collins from Nanty Glo was in town during the week. Billie Walker and her Texas Long Horns will play at Charlie's Grove Wednesday night March 4. Square dances at Charlie's Grove are each Wednesday and Saturday. Mr and Mrs Wm McCrady visited relatives in Glen Campbell Sunday. Vada Deviller now employed in Nanty Glo.
Mrs Elmer Snyder visited Rochester Mills relatives last week. J G Miller and Rev J P Tampt were Indiana visitors on Monday. Peter Maloney and O C Napp were Indiana business visitors. Mr and Mrs Norman Kerr and daughter of Culver visited the Maloney home Sunday. Mrs Mary Napp visited her daughter Mrs Arthur Henry of Clymer on Monday after Mrs Henry fractured an ankle in a fall. Edna Miller visited Indiana Saturday. Harvey Miller of Rochester Mills moved his family to his place Monday. A radio listener can turn the dial not the dial.

Russel Lang and family of Pittsburgh visited W. T. Andersons. Wendell Devere was in Indiana Friday. H. Hanna visited brother C. C. Wherry in Brackenridge. Ira Weaver ill. Lester Barnet fractured left arm on ice. Janet Smith returned to Apollo from Clara Townsend home. Henry Townsend and Gene Silvis were in Indiana Monday. Deemer family spent Sunday with the Weaver home.
Mr and Mrs Norman Ruby and son Ernest of Youngstown Ohio visited the lady's parents here over the weekend. Miss Bess Smith is spending months in Florida. Mrs E Langdon of Glen Campbell visited her daughter Mrs John Montieth. Grace Barbour and Betty Jane spent Sunday with the former's parents near Bowdertown. John Murray of Glen Campbell called at Jack Montieth home. Prof W H Floto was a caller in Pittsburgh. S C Bee was a business caller in Spangler. Mr and Mrs Frank Weaver spent the weekend out of town. Dr and Mrs C J Harley and Mr and Mrs Norman Montgomery of Heigh were callers at the Howard McFarland home. Mrs H R Bee spent Thursday at Edward Johns home in Stifflertown.
Preaching services are set for next Sunday at 2 30 PM in the local church. Topic to be discussed is How Should Sunday Serve Man. Community members are urged to attend and join the discussion. Several local notices follow reviewing visits and travels of residents including Mrs Max Nibert, Miss Sadie Smith, Mrs Carl Fleming, and Mr Earl Sell.

Roads were drifted making mail delivery difficult. a team of horses was lost by William Wallermire and Sherman Barnett. The clergy responses issued to the nation are noted by President as to who placed buttons in the collection basket.
