Langham Urged To Present Big DeHaven Claim
Washington dispatch says Representative J N Langham of Indiana Pa is urged by Mrs Susie Johnson to push a DeHaven claim against the United States. It alleges Jacob DeHaven lent 4656 000 to feed Washingtons army at Valley Forge through Robert Morris and that repayment was never made, with interest pushing the amount into millions. The heirs lack documentary proof, possibly burned in 1812, and Howard DeHaven once prepared a history. Mrs Johnson cites this work in renewed effort.
