Indian Brewery Loses County License Gains State Permit
The Indian Brewery of this place was refused a county license on Monday yet received a state license the next day. The state license fee of 1250 was paid by draft with the application. The ruling notes that local product cannot be sold directly to private consumers in the county and must be shipped out first, then brought back. Several other applications were refused or granted for nearby hotels and figures, with detailed charges against the brewery and the court's findings summarized. The decision cites multiple specific violations including delivery in unmarked wagons and sales to minors, and outlines that deliveries within the county require marked wagons and compliance with act provisions. The will of Jacob Hawk and others are noted, but the report centers on the brewery license change and the legal charges surrounding it.
