Blairs ville merchant J. M. Harvey retires due to financial troubles and his business passes to D. M. Kier as receiver. Ex-Sheriff D. B. Thompson purchases the stock and will run the Harvey storeroom as the largest grocery in the southern county. Also, Samuel and Mrs. Fisher of Wheatfield Township report thieves stole all their chickens and nine hogs in recent raids, leaving them without means of support.
