County Leads in Tree Planting in Indiana County

Indiana County led the state in forest tree planting in 1924 with over 700,000 trees set out on idle acres. Trees were supplied free by the Department of Forests and Waters, with planting costs limited to packing and transportation under $1 per thousand. Demand for 1925 may outpace supply as orders for spring planting total about 450,000 trees.
