Celebrating Clowes Wolley’s 96th Birthday at Home
Clowes Wolley, Rayne township's likely county's oldest man, marked his 96th birthday at his Greensburg area home on Monday. Born in 1813 in Germany, he moved to the United States as a youth and later settled on a Rayne township farm in 1866 with his wife, who shares good health. The couple, parents of five sons and one daughter, maintain active faculties aside from some sight and hearing loss, enjoying outdoor walks and farm life. Also, Mrs. Henderson remembered with neighbors gathering to celebrate her birthday Monday evening, organized by her daughters Ethel and Westelle, with a postcard shower and refreshments later.
