A New Year tale follows a cavalier who persuades a distressed girl on a bridge at year’s end. After a tender exchange he escorts her to coffee, then to her home, promising to change next New Year while a snowy city glitters and bells ring.
A brief verse from the Montreal Herald presents a New Year’s resolution motif. The speaker vows to avoid quarrels, grief, sighs, and aim to keep trying and believing things will improve, even when days are dark. The poem reflects self improvement and optimism for the year ahead.
Sunday school next Sunday at 1 15 and preaching at 2 30 followed by a congregational meeting. Several families and individuals visit relatives in Saltsburg Indiana Blairsville and nearby towns for Christmas. The Clarksburg school presented the operetta Trouble in Toy land and the Christmas pageant Nobody's Child. An entertainment with moving pictures and debates is planned by the Conemaugh Local Dairyman's Association on January 5 with a Ladies Bible class booth.

Alma Vater and niece Alma Leone spent Christmas with Joseph Leone family in Heilwood while Paul Black of Orange N J stayed with Joseph Mooney. Esther Burkhart from York Pa visits T A Burkhart family. Leroy Meling and sons of Twin Rocks visited John Rennie family. Joe Sutila family weekends with Cleveland relatives. Emil Lay of Yukon called on friends Saturday. Evelyn Leone of Hellwood visiting aunt Alma Vazer. Dorothy Long of Ebensburg visiting aunt Mrs Joe Mooney. Bernard Shauss and Woodrow Woods visited Cleveland over weekend. Alma Leone visiting aunt Mrs John Leone of Indiana.

Eugene Pifer of Tionesta visits parents. Agnes and Helen Lipsie from Indiana spend week with parents. Store scene features a boy asking for soap with perfume to keep mother from washing again.
Mr and Mrs Hillis Rybolt and family moved from the Cable farm near town to Bedford Ohio. Christmas gatherings included Mr and Mrs Dewey Riddell with guests, and many other local families sharing dinners and visits across Robinson and nearby towns. Curtis Shomo led Lutheran Sunday School officers for the coming year.
