Wason Acquitted of Murder Charge in Homer City Case
December sessions closed with Samuel Mason of Strangford found not guilty of murder in the Homer City killing of John Roof on November 28. Verdicts favored Mason amid testimony that the shooting was accidental or in heat of passion. Several co-defendants were also acquitted or given sentences. others received fines or reform school terms. Death toll in families of Creekside and Rural Valley
A Creekside woman and Rural Valley grandmother died within days of their daughters deaths. Mrs Tobias Fisher of New Kensington died December 4 at age 89 and was mother to Mrs A C Riddis of Creekside. Mrs Finley Templeton near Rural Valley died December 8 aged 61 after heart trouble, the elderly mother of Mrs Fisher, and mother in law to Mrs Pisher. She died December 10 after returning home from the funeral. She leaves a husband 87, two daughters 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Indiana prepares its first municipal Christmas tree on Philadelphia Street, a forty-foot spruce decorated with electric lights and a large white star.
