Saltzburg Alumni Reunions Draw Veterans and Families
A Saltzburg Academy reunion drawing alumni from many states marked the day’s highlight with a 1:30 pm bell, a prayer by Rev. Dr. G. W. Chalfant, a mock school, roll call of 100 plus, a recital by Miss Virginia Pierce, and a village banquet. Marion Center hosted the 2nd annual Company A 61st Pennsylvania Volunteers reunion, with officers elected and a noon dinner. Hendersons held their third annual gathering at Eldersridge as 200 attendees from multiple towns shared addresses and a basket meal. Additional reunions included the Mitchell Craven and Merson families at Blairsville and Dixonville with speeches, music, and plans for next year.

The building will gain two stories to become a three story structure with basement beneath all, a freight elevator, and a new rear stairway and entrance with extended display windows along Carpenter's avenue. Man Crushed to Death In Homeward Railroad Accident
A brakeman James Smith of Punxsantawney died in a coupling mishap at Cunmins siding near Crackside on Monday evening aboard a Buffalo Rochester Pittsburg freight. He was about 85, survived by wife and children, and his remains were sent home the same night. Edna Violet Ray died of heart failure at her Church Street home Thursday noon after a recent illness and a prior stomach trouble. She was 21 years old, a Normal School graduate turned teacher at Leechburg, survived by her father and three brothers, with funeral services held Saturday at First United Presbyterian Church and burial in Greenwood cemetery.
