A large boiler in the Guthrie-Tuck Manufacturing handle factory at Homer City exploded shortly after 7 yesterday morning, wrecking three buildings and causing about 6000 dollars in damage. Lathe man C. W. McGee was slightly injured. the factory will be rebuilt at once.

Purse-snatching near Johnstown by four Slavs ends with restitution
John D. Clawson, brickyard operator near Cunningham, left forty dollars in a pocketbook on a window sill while buying a Johnstown ticket. Four Slavic men nearby took the purse, boarded the train, and returned with part of the money after police detained them at Blairsville Intersection. The remainder was paid back under a pledge not to prosecute. The money had been sent by Italians arranging hospital care for a sicker companion.

Fatal blast accident ends foreman's life on railroad work
Patrick Sullivan, foreman of a railroad grading crew near Twolick Creek between Dixon's Run and Mitchell's Mills, was killed Saturday when a blast misfired. A flying rock struck him as the crew retired, his skull crushed, and he died within an hour. Remains sent to Philadelphia for interment.
