Zion Lutherans begin demolishing the present church at Church and Sixth streets to make way for a modern Gothic stone church costing about 160000. The new building will seat 1000, include multiple departments, a social room, and kitchen, with worship ongoing in the courthouse during construction.

United Presbyterian Church to Call Rev Pinkerton
The First United Presbyterian Church at town voted to extend a call to Rev. Dr. J. G. Pinkerton of Los Angeles Cal. The congregation will formalize the action with Rev. James A. Tayvous Lyons of Gherryhill township died at home in Clymer on Monday night at 1 p.m. She left six children and relatives in Clymer Johnstown Sallaburg and Rich Hill with funeral services held at Itleh Hil Waa loyan Methodist church. Also noted are the deaths of Prof. J. P. Wiley of the Indiana Normal school, Miss Anna Marron longtime Sheloeta resident, and a hospital funding cut to the state department of Public Welfare.
