Marion Center notes report visits and returns including Mrs Thomas Reed and children from Temora, Misses Muriel and Mayme Barr on vacation, and many relatives visiting or moving. Events include a spring sighting, plans for a cantata Our Living Lord, and Easter vacation arrivals. CURRY'S RUN items note Mona Griffith home from Johnstown and local teaching, plus Peeler school term end and local visits and housekeeping changes.
Mins W Jusing returns home after visiting daughter-in-law Mrs Walter Rising near Advance. Mrs Eder Kimmel and Florence also visited. J J Anthony plans to move to Indiana after transferring property to H G C Kline. Mr and Mrs Winner Rising spent Sabbath with friends. Herbert Boyer bought a car. Church services will be held on Sabbath April 28 at 11 o clock.
Mrs Lawrence Sheesley and Mrs McCartney attended the funeral of their aunt Mrs Nancy Myers in Penn Run on Friday. A public sale is planned Saturday afternoon April 4 on the James Lydie farm near Penn Run. Dora Barr visited Mrs Rash Gord at Manor Thursday. Ann Eberle of Altoona was a guest in Dr G Strong home last week. Mary Brown and Mary Putt of Manor visited Penn Run Sabbath. Evelyn Wolfe of Indiana visited family over the weekend. Mrs John Amond circulating among friends. Ed Fyock of Arcadia spent the weekend with his parents. Mrs Mary Stay is on the sick list. Bert Holsapple was an Indiana visitor Saturday. Ira Stephens visited his sister Inda in Indiana hospital. Two of Fred Rays children are seriously ill with lung trouble. James Lydie sold his farm near Penn Run to Mr Strong. Mrs William Lyons was called to Pittsburgh to the bedside of daughter Grace who is ill. Catherine Stewart attending Indiana Normal visited home over Sunday. Mabel Burkhart and Wendell Stewart called at John Smith home Sunday.
DECKERS POINT M W Gest served as a caller at Punxsutawney Monday. Mrs. Mary Rice and children visited her mother Mrs McFall of Clymer the latter part of last week. Mr and Mrs Glen Mumau of Commodore were callers here Friday. G W Hazlett went to Brockville Monday. John Wisher and Mr and Mrs Samuel Stitt called at Punxsutawney Saturday. Mr and Mrs Clay Rickard and Burnell of Marion Center visited Everett Burns Sunday. P M Swope of Carrolltown called on business early in the week. Clair Abel closed a term of school here Thursday. Ethyl Pfeiffer spent Sunday with Helen Burns. David Stonebraker called at Marion Center Saturday. There will be preaching in the M B E church Sabbath afternoon. Quite a few from here attended the last day of school at Hartman Monday.
The W C T U held its monthly meeting at the home of Mrs F G Adams. Mrs Ben Waltermire spent Friday in Indiana. Helen Huston is visiting her parents. J H Smith conducted business across Johnstown Nanty Glo Ebensburg and Blairsville. Laurel Swamp school closed Monday. Mrs F C Adams and daughter Marie were Clymer callers. Mary Stephens spent weekend with Gladys Smith. Matilda Gibson hosted Tartrude Holmes Thursday evening.

Miss Martha Wissinger and Miss Leona Bracken visited Mr and Mrs S V Keaple and family. An Easter service is planned for Salem M E church Sunday at 7 30 pm. Miss Phyllis Kimmel is ill with tonsillitis. Gracia Woodward of Indiana is visiting Florence Downey. A stork brought a baby boy to Mr and Mrs Sam Kideels. John Buggy owns a new Durant car. Mr and Mrs Charles Gray moved to the Peterman farm to farm extensively. Mr and Mrs R W Jenkins drove to Indiana on Friday. Patrick Stapleton was called away to his mother’s sick bed who faces a serious operation. Rev C G Stewart will preach The Risen Christ at Crooked Creek Baptist Church Sunday at 11.
