John Coumbe Bartindale, born November 10, 1844 in Jarvis Ontario, died June 22, 1913 at The Oaks sanitarium Oxford Indiana aged 69 years, 7 months, 12 days. He served with the English army in Canada during the Fenian uprising, worked as a railroad bridge builder, then farmer and merchant at Otterbein, later postmaster for eleven years. Surviving children include Ossie Ixowan, Earl Bartindale, and Mrs. Artie Cooper. wives were Lyda Moore, Ellen Moore, and Lottie Sutherland. Funeral at M E Church, Mason and Odd Fellows member, active in temperance and church work. Card from family thanks friends for sympathy.
