Floyd Bees foiled a daylight attempt on $4600 in bonds and deeds at the Bees home on Northwestern avenue West Lafayette. Two men in overalls entered the house. Floyd fired from upstairs, the box with bonds was dropped, the men fled toward Otterbein in a car. The loot was recovered and placed in a Lafayette safety deposit box.

State Receives Fourteen Army Automobiles
The state highway commission was informed by the department of agriculture that fourteen passenger automobiles have been allotted. James Edward Martin of Otterbein died after a lingering illness at a sanitarium in Indianapolis at 6 AM Saturday.
