Miss Jane Fraser Rites Held After Sudden Heart Death
Miss Jane Fraser died Sunday evening at her family home near Lochiel Benton county age 73. She leaves brothers Dan Fraser of Fowler a prominent attorney and Charles Fraser. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 pm with Rev Wr Griffes chaplain of the 15th infantry Fort Sheridan officiating.

Old Citizen Eli Gilpin Dies En Route Home
Eli Gilpin former Richland township resident dies Monday afternoon in an ambulance while being taken from his farm near Hillsboro to Fowler. He suffered a severe heart attack in Hillsboro and, eager to reach home, died after reaching Newtown.

Benton county resident and Civil War veteran Charles W. VanAuker died at his Fowler home from age infirmities. The body was sent to Marseilles Indiana for burial. Pauline Harman returned from Gainesville Georgia for the summer and a friend accompanied her here before traveling north.

James A M Smith Dies After Brief Illness at Otterbein
James A M Smith aged 70 born May 22 1850 in Williamston South Carolina died at Lafayette Home Hospital after a short illness. He lived in Indiana Hamilton and Kenton counties before moving to Otterbein where he ran real estate loan and insurance firms and farmed with his brother James D Smith. He married Ellen W Haigh February 10 1867 and was engaged in lumber coal mercantile banking and farming during a long career.

Government guaranty of 220 per bushel ends while the U S Grain Corporation winds down after completing existing contracts and turning finances to the treasury. Dealers may now trade freely under supply and demand conditions.

Decoration Day Observed in Oxford with Services
Decoration Day was observed in Oxford last Sunday with morning services at the Presbyterian church led by Rev. Charles W. Shoemaker and scripture by Rev. Jesse Guy Smith. Afternoon talks at the opera house and cemeteries by Roy Street of Lafayette honored past and present heroes with decorated graves and lodge memorials.

Bergan Death Notice and Funeral Tribute
Corra Etta Bergan daughter of John and Mrs Harper was born in Paxton in 1872 and died May 26 1920. Surviving are her mother two children W E Runner of Oxford Ind and Gerald Bergan of Hoopeston. Six grandchildren one brother and four sisters. Her husband John P Bergan died in a 1903 railroad wreck. Frances Bergan died in 1916 at age 18. She joined the Methodist Episcopal church and bore her sufferings with grace. The family thanks friends for support during the bereavement.

Miss Lorna Isabell McKinnon daughter of Mrs. W S McKinnon of 47 Walnut street and Ralph Samuels Wann of Oxford Indiana married at the bride’s mother's home on May 22 at 5 30. Rev C Ar gyle Keller conducted vows with a song recital preceding the ceremony. Attendants included maid of honor Miss Naomi Kerr and groomsman Merle Templar. The couple plan a short honeymoon in Buffalo and East Aurora New York. Mrs Wann attended Lake Erie College and the College for Women Western Reserve University. Mr Wann studied at Carnegie School of Technology after serving in France.
