A man named Inc E Osburn, an agent of the Roberts Torpedo, hired a horse and buggy near Parker City Armstrong County. He placed two fifty pound cans of nitroglycerin under his seat and the blast ripped the scene apart. Osburn was blown to pieces except for head shoulders and one arm, with the buggy and horse scattered. The event caused a widespread and horrifying scene, with many in Parker believing a local oil well boiler explosion caused the concussion.Osburn, about thirty five and unmarried, had worked for the Torpedo Company for some time.
