Mad itch disease devastates Mr Watson’s stock in London region

The London Journal reports Mr Stephen Watson near London lost nine mare lambs and twenty nine fat sheep to a fatal disease called the Mad Itch. The paper notes the cause lies in feeding cattle or sheep with hogs on green corn fodder or very green late planted corn. Government awards pensions to Fenlan invasion volunteers

The Canadian Government grants gratuities from 50 to 204 dollars and pensions from 20 cents a day to 400 dollars a year to volunteers harmed by the Fenlan invasion. Col Parker of Gen. Grant's staff and Gen Alfred Sully are named to probe the Fort Phil Kearney massacre of ninety one. About seven thousand five hundred Federal soldiers' remains have been exhumed and reburied in the National Cemetery on the Gallatin pike near Nashville.
