London Kentucky crowds gather for court with plans of Deputized guards and militia at Barboursville expected. Judge Brown rejects rumors of armed factions and pledges calm as Legislative figures arrive and militia movements unfold.
Louisville dispatch reports the London Republican caucus and session have been postponed and may not occur. Republicans planned to meet in London and caucus Tuesday but will be informed today that the London session is not to be held, with members likely returning to Frankfort by Tuesday.
Frankfort Kentucky February 5. The Democratic members of the Legislature poured back into Frankfort on morning trains after late night messages directing them to return for the next session to be held tomorrow in the city. Most are expected back by afternoon with a few remaining in Louisville for a conference.
Gov Taylor confirms no order to revoke London legislature convening. He plans to issue a formal statement after meetings with legal advisers Bradley and Yost. State troops have been paid. London session likely abandoned as Republicans return to Frankfort for the Capitol session.

O'Brien of La Grange identified Whittaker as the man seen two weeks prior with revolvers and talk of Goebel’s danger while noting plans to protect Governor Taylor’s rights. O'Brien was brought to Whittaker’s cell and labeled the man by eyewitness.
Prawnuin Kentucky February 4 L B Finn county attorney offers 1000 dollars for the apprehension and conviction of all persons who advised planned or participated in the assassination of Governor William Goebel.
The funeral of William Goebel will be held in Covington with the body arriving by special train and lying in state at Odd Fellow's Hall from 9 30 a m to 1 00 p m the next Tuesday. After services in Covington, the body moves to Frankfort for in state at the Capitol Hotel on Wednesday, with interment set for Thursday in Frankfort.
In Louisville on February 5, Democrats hear Governor Taylor may move the legislature to Frankfort and keep sessions in the Capitol. Senator-elect Blackburn relays that London plans are dropped and Frankfort will host the General Assembly, with some members fleeing toward Cincinnati or staying home under Beckham security. Gen Castleman signals a cautious push toward a new national guard battalion under Major J F Gregory, described as defensive.

Franxfort Ky February 5 Governor Taylor and Adjutant General Collier say no attempt will be made to stop the Louisville gathering of Democratic legislators. Collier notes an injunction restricted actions at Frankfort and says lawmakers have not asked for a meeting there.
A special train will carry the remains of Mr. Goebel from Ky. to Covington leaving Goebel at about 6 PM. A large number of prominent Democrats will serve as a guard of honor aboard the train. The route to Covington is circuitous and the arrival is expected late.
William and John Newton, aged 75 and a younger brother, were burned in the home one mile west of Porrano Indiana. A neighbor found the blaze but could not save them. John’s body lay in the cellar, while only bones remained of the other. The scene contained chairs and papers amid ash. No foul play found. William Newton was among the state’s wealthiest men with an estate around 1.5 million. Both men were noted for eccentric frugality.
The Echo Mountain House hotel on Mount Lowe near Pasadena burned today and all guests escaped unharmed. Loss estimated at about 100000 dollars with the big mountain hotel severely damaged.
