Tragic weekend on area highways leaves two dead
Two separate crashes over the weekend killed a Scottsburg woman in a car train crash near Austin and a 20 year old Carrollton woman in a KY 36 single vehicle crash in Carroll County. A Milton Hill crash Sunday appeared severe but the driver escaped injury.

Cummins confirms global layoffs underway
Cummins Inc confirms it has begun cutting jobs worldwide to weather a projected cyclical downturn. In November the company planned to trim about 2,000 positions, or 3, by end of March, with no specific numbers for Columbus. Revenue fell in Q3 2019 to nearly 5.8 billion from 5.9 billion a year earlier as demand for trucks and construction gear slowed. International sales dropped 8 percent while North American sales were flat. The firm aims to cut structural costs by 250 to 300 million in 2020 as markets weaken globally.

11th case of new virus confirmed in California
SAN JOSE CALIF. AP Officials confirmed a central California couple aged 57 contracted a new virus after the husband traveled to Wuhan China. This marks the 11th U.S. case and the first person to person transmission in the state.
